Rapid Battery Depletion Due to Electrical Leakage in Highly Humid Environments

Last Update 9 maanden geleden
This issue often occurs when the device is exposed to liquids, likely resulting from a damaged capacitor that leads to internal electrical leakage. While the device may continue to operate, this condition can cause batteries to drain rapidly, potentially lasting only a few days. Normally, a WS1 device set to default settings with brand-new batteries should last 4-6 months. To avoid frequent battery replacements, consider using an external 5V micro-USB as a power source.
For use in outdoor and high-humidity environments, we recommend employing an external DS18B20 temperature probe or a water-resistant case. Additional information about these accessories can be found at UbiBot Accessories.
Please note, both WS1 and WS1 PRO devices are not waterproof. Avoid placing them in environments with high humidity (over 85%) to prevent damage. We offer accessories designed to shield your device under such conditions, available at UbiBot Accessories.
Be mindful of the device's optimal operating conditions:
- Temperature: -20ºC to 60ºC (-4ºF to 140ºF)
- Relative Humidity: 10% to 90%
Operating the device outside the recommended temperature and humidity ranges can harm the device, impacting both its accuracy and battery lifespan.
